High Hope Challenge 57 - Sketchy Time

Our first challenge of the year has just started over at the High Hopes blog and this week I have created a sketch for you to follow. Feel free to rotate or add any extra elements if you wish! As always by playing there is a chance to win a great stamp prize! We also welcome our two new guests for the new term Melanie and Alex.!

This is the first card I have made for nearly 3 weeks so do feel a little rusty! I couldn't resist using this sweet High Hopes stamp Group Hug Bears and sentiment Group Hug. I don't actually stock this stamp in my store as it was a recent gift from Bethany at High Hopes . My huggy bears were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured with a mixture of copic sketch markers and Prismacolor pencils.

The papers are from the new Basic Grey pad Sugar Rush 6x6" Paper pad. I used a circle nestabilitie to cut around the image and then added a Nellie Frame Die Multi Round behind. These dies are fabulous value so be sure to check them out! I added some lilac flat back pearls around the edge of the die shape. The heart is a new Martha Stewart Punch Lace Scallop Heart. I popped it up on foam pads and also popped up the sentiment which I cut out using an SU Word Window Punch. My sentiment was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black.

All paper edges were aged using VersaMagic Chalk Jumbo Java. To finish I cut up some Dark Pink Raffia Lace and added some co-ordinating buttons from the Sugar Plum Collection .

Be sure to check out the awesome samples from the rest of the team!

Thought I would share some pictures with you today. The first is of poor Danni who cut above her eye quite badly last week while twirling around to Disney Princess music. Poor little love fell and landed on the corner of the cat scratching post... Ouch! We did have a little trip to A&E but luckily she didn't need any stitches.... and is still smiling!

Next are the girls over the park a few days ago on their new bikes.

Zoe has never really been keen on bikes so this is her first bmx without stabilizers. Such a proud Mum and she was riding after 10 minutes practice. As you can see she loves it!

Do you have any under 16's who love to craft? You do.... Well be sure to get them to check out Crafty Monkey's the Challenge blog for kids. Zoe and Hannah's new challenge started Friday and Hannah has created a great sketch. Your under 16's won't want to miss out on the cool prize!

Wow... that was a long post today!

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Hugs,

bearhugsclose

Oh Nikki, I love your card. The image is so sweet (I don't ever recall seeing this one) and your coloring and dp choice are both wonderful. Glad to see that Danni didn't need stitches and they look like they are having so much fun on their bikes! It is funny to see as we just received another 15cm of snow and are busy digging out from this last snowstorm!

Looks like you're having great weather and the girls are enjoying their new bikes. We're at -15 here with a howling wind which is making things even frostier. Hugs, Maria

Hi Zoe,
Gorgeous card! Such sweet pics of the girls. I was thinking of you earlier when Danni was starting school and how much I was dreading the time coming for my youngest to start. Well Harvey starts his 1st day tomorrow (just mornings) and I'm so anxious as he really don't want to go :0( They grow up far too fast!
I just made an order and I have added your blinkie on my blog ;0)
